Professor Partnoy is the author of the best‐selling book The Match King: Ivar Kreuger, The Financial Genius Behind a Century of Wall Street Scandals, about the 1920s markets and Ivar Kreuger, who many consider the father of modern financial schemes. Professor Partnoy will trace how the history of finance has repeated itself from the 1920s to today, discuss how the recent panic and downturn occurred in the face of the American financial system's gatekeepers and safeguards, and predict how the reactions and reforms proposed today may change the future.
