ABTL - Association of Business Trial Lawyers

San Diego

In late 2017, #MeToo quickly evolved from a viral hashtag aimed at raising awareness about the sexual harassment to one of the most influential social movements this country has ever experienced. Initially, #MeToo was sparked by high-profile allegations against some of Hollywood’s biggest names but its influence has touched all industries, including the legal profession. ABTL is proud to host our expert panel, including: Janice Brown, founder of San Diego’s employment defense firm, Brown Law Group; Deborah Martin, Chief Employment Counsel for Sempra Energy; George Howard Jr., Labor & Employment counsel at Jones Day; and Kristin Rizzo, President of Rizzo Law, who will provide their invaluable insight into the current wave of high-profile sexual harassment complaints, and how the #MeToo movement has changed how lawyers must address harassment, discrimination and pay equity claims for not only their clients but also themselves, as employers.
