ABTL - Association of Business Trial Lawyers

San Diego

Erwin Chemerinsky

ABTL is pleased to host our extraordinary panel of expert trial attorneys, Rebecca Fortune, Michael McCloskey and Bob Shoecraft, as they showcase the virtues of their technology of choice during various stages of trial. The Honorable Katherine Bacal will serve as moderator/Judge and promises to keep our panel on their toes. This program will provide an entertaining back and forth between Judge Bacal and our panelists, who will need to be ready to handle the unexpected objections and the dreaded technical malfunctions thrown their way. Please join us for what is sure to be a fun and educational evening.

Rebecca Fortune is a Partner in the Business Real Estate Group and Co- Chair of the Litigation Practice Group at Kimball, Tirey & St. John LLP’s San Diego office. Ms. Fortune has extensive trial and litigation experience in the areas of civil, business and real estate litigation. She has tried eleven cases to verdict in federal and state courts in California and Colorado. Ms. Fortune’s extraordinary record of favorable outcomes is a direct result of her efficient and effective use of technology during discovery and trial, as well as her superior focus in all aspects of the litigation process.

He also defends clients in antitrust matters, trade secret and non-compete litigation, consumer class actions, and business dissolutions or other disputes among business partners.

During the course of nearly 35 years’ experience, Mr. Shoecraft has represented insurers, brokers, surplus lines brokers and other businesses in the defense and prosecution of complex personal, commercial and excess insurance, reinsurance and insurance broker professional liability matters. He has also devoted substantial time in representing parties in complex commercial, business, professional, environmental and construction liability matters.
