Copyright and Publishing Policy
The Association of Business Trial Lawyers, Los Angeles Chapter (“abtl-LA”), together with the author or authors of an article published in the abtl Report (“Article”), jointly own all copyrights and other intellectual property rights in the Article, with the following permissions and limitations:
- Any author may publish the Article in any medium, including law firm websites, provided that the version published states that the Article was first published in the abtl Report and identifies the issue of the abtl Report in which the Article appeared. The author may provide this information either by stating it in text at the beginning or end of the Article or by publishing an image of the pages of the abtl Report on which the Article appeared.
- abtl-LA may publish the Article in any medium, including on its website and in any materials to which its members have access, provided that the version published attributes authorship to the author or authors, states their biographical information as it appeared in the abtl Report, and identifies the issue of the abtl Report in which the Article appeared. abtl-LA may provide this information either by stating it in text at the beginning or end of the Article or by publishing an image of the pages of the abtl Report on which the Article appeared.
- abtl-LA may grant permission to other abtl chapters to publish the Article in the manner and subject to the restrictions stated in paragraph 2.
