AI & THE JUSTICE SYSTEM: SHAPING THE LEGAL LANDSCAPE

Judge Schlegel has been on the frontier of exploring how artificial intelligence is changing the practice of law and the courts since the first hallucinated citation appeared in a brief. In this presentation he will bring a judicial perspective to a discussion about the opportunities and risks that generative AI presents—for lawyers, judges and our trust in the judicial system–as it permeates all aspects of litigation.
He writes and speaks nationally on artificial intelligence, court modernization, and the future of the justice system, and is a
co-founder of the Judicial AI Consortium, a network of state and federal judges across the country working through the practical challenges artificial intelligence presents for the courts.
