Gender Bias in the Courtroom: Overcoming Challenges Facing Women Lawyers

Please join our panel of distinguished judges and trial lawyers for a lively discussion of the challenges, and opportunities, both old and new, that women face in the courtroom today, and what all of us–women and men–can do to overcome these challenges.

The discussion with be a joint presentation with the Women Attorneys Advocacy Project which was started by former Magistrate Judge Elizabeth Laporte in 2015 following a meeting at the NDCA Conference of attorneys interested in spearheading women’s issues. The group has presented 11 programs in federal court that have covered issues of the art of communication, how to speak to judges, and gender bias.
